South Central Iowa Youth for Christ exists to help today's young people get what they really need. Our mission and vision is to connect them to God, society, and themselves in a healthy way. We do that by helping them lead a balanced life, a life that is based upon the Word of God.

Youth for Christ encourages young people to make a difference in their world beginning with their families and friends. Our staff and volunteers, fully committed to Christ, mentor and model lives devoted to serving God and their fellow man. They take seriously Jesus' command to Love their God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love their neighbor as themselves. Their objective is to serve and mentor the whole child; body, mind and spirit. The goal is to see every student through the eyes of Christ.

Our Mission

Youth for Christ reaches young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up life long followers of Jesus who lead in their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to prayer and the Word of God, passion for sharing the love of Christ and commitment to social involvement.

Our Vision

As part of the body of Christ and the greater YFC movement, our vision is to see every young person in every people group in every nation have the opportunity to make an informed decision to be a follower of Jesus Christ and become part of the local church.

Statement of Faith

We believe...

1. The Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

2. That there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

3. In the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, to His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

4. That for the salvation of lost and sinful people regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

5. In the present ministry of The Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

6. In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

7. In the spiritual unity of believers in Christ.

5 Essentials:

Widespread Prayer - we deliberately engage lots of Christians to intercede on behalf of the ministry site.

Loving Relationships - we consistently pursue lost kids & engage them in life-long relationship with Jesus.

Faithful Bible Teaching - we accurately handle Biblical truth, regularly coaching kids to apply it in their lives.

Collaborative Community Strategy - we intentionally work together with local churches, agencies and other partners to provide sustainable youth and family ministry.
